Description:

What happens when you stop trying to make “good art” and start trusting your instincts?

This hands-on class explores drawing and painting as a way of accessing the subconscious, using loose marks, instinct, movement, shape and colour to uncover ideas and develop a personal visual language.

Term 4: 8 October – 3 December 2026
Wednesday: 6pm – 8pm
Skill level: Beginner – Intermediate
Medium: Drawing, ink & acrylic paint

R4,050 for the full term — 9 sessions of 2 hours, R450 a session. Joining after the start date? Choose your start week at checkout and pay only for the sessions left. A 50% deposit option is available.

Careshia teaches MAKE FROM WITHIN, the studio's Wednesday evening class in drawing and painting from instinct. She starts with loose ink exercises that get you out of your head and loosen your hand, then goes looking for the shapes, characters and textures hiding inside those marks — turning instinctive gestures into finished work on canvas. Less about technique, more about trusting your hand and building a visual language that could only be yours.
